Gate Charity Continues Its Commitment to Marine Ecological Protection With Second Coastal Cleanup Event in Cebu, Philippines

Gate Charity, a global non-profit philanthropic organization, after its first successful coastal cleanup event in mid-March in Bohol, Philippines, has teamed up with Marchand Kalachuchi Inn Bohol Diving Center for the second phase of "Coastal Cleanup" in Cebu, Philippines. This event was aimed at improving the ecological environment of ocean beaches in The Philippines.

On April 27, 2023, the event involved local diving instructors and diving enthusiasts, with approximately 10 participants, who were responsible for cleaning up garbage on the coast and diving to photograph marine life. The materials used for the event included holding signs, trash bags, trash-picking tools, speedboats, diving air tanks, diving suits, underwater cameras, and more.

The workflow for the event began with cleaning up litter on the coast. In the afternoon, from 1:30-4:00 pm, participants sailed to the nearby waters to shoot marine life.

The Kalachuchi Inn Bohol Diving Center was fully deployed, including three employees, two diving instructors, and two diving students. On April 27, 2023, everyone gathered at Cebu Beach in the morning, full of energy and ready to devote themselves to this event. The event ended around 2 hours later and everyone gained valuable experience and insight. The instructors later then led the students to the target sea area to photograph marine life and had close contact with nearby marine life in the water.

Through this event, everyone realized the significant impact of white garbage on the deep sea ecosystem. Every member of the Kalachuchi Inn Bohol Diving Center and Gate Charity team started from themselves, mobilizing the people around them to cherish the marine ecology and protect the beautiful ocean.
