To further optimize the trading experience and reduce the impact of funding fees on users' account equity, Gate will enhance the dynamic adjustment mechanism for the funding rate settlement interval in Futures. Starting from 01:00 (UTC) on April 13, 2026, for markets with a 1-hour funding rate settlement interval, if the absolute value of the funding rate remains below the specified threshold for 16 consecutive settlement periods, the settlement interval for that market will be automatically adjusted to 4 hours.
### Scope of Application: 
Applies to USDT-margined and coin-margined perpetual futures markets on Gate.
### Example
Take the BTCUSDT perpetual contract as an example. Funding rate upper/lower limits: +0.3%/-0.3%; current settlement interval: 1 hour.
#### Scenario 1:
If, starting from 16:00 (UTC) on March 31, 2026, the absolute value of the funding rate for the BTCUSDT market remains below the specified threshold for 16 consecutive settlement periods, the settlement interval for the contract will be automatically adjusted to 4 hours after the 16th settlement. No prior announcement will be issued for this automatic adjustment.
#### Scenario 2:
If, starting from 16:00 (UTC) on March 31, 2026, the funding rate remains below the specified threshold for the first 10 settlement periods, rises to or above the threshold in the 11th settlement period, and then falls below the threshold again during settlement periods 12 to 16, the count will restart from the 12th settlement period, and no adjustment will be triggered after the 16th settlement period.
#### Scenario 3:
If BTCUSDT is currently on a 1-hour settlement interval and the absolute value of the funding rate remains at or above the threshold at each settlement, the settlement interval will remain at 1 hour and will not be automatically adjusted.
#### Scenario 4:
If the platform decides to adjust the settlement interval for a specific market to 4 hours, an announcement will be issued in advance, and the adjustment will take effect according to the announced schedule.
### Important Notes
- After the settlement interval is automatically adjusted to 4 hours due to consistently stable funding rates, if the funding rate in the market later reaches either the upper or lower limit again, the settlement interval will automatically revert to 1 hour without prior announcement.
- If the settlement interval is to be further adjusted to 8 hours or any other interval, Gate will issue a separate announcement.
