Gate Charity proudly joined as a key partner in the Smart Cities Hackathon, organized by FRIARE (Fondation Ratheil pour une Intelligence Artificielle Responsable et Efficiente), which took place from April 5 to April 19, 2025, at Epitech Benin Cotonou. The event brought together talented young developers, entrepreneurs, and innovators to design sustainable and intelligent solutions for the cities of tomorrow. By supporting this initiative, Gate Charity reinforced its commitment to social impact and innovation, empowering the next generation of tech leaders to build smarter, more sustainable cities.

The Smart Cities Hackathon successfully served as a catalyst for forward-thinking innovation in urban development across Africa. Enabled by Gate Charity, the event united multidisciplinary teams to develop innovative and responsible approaches for transforming African cities into sustainable and resilient smart cities. Participants addressed critical urban challenges by integrating artificial intelligence, blockchain, and other emerging technologies, while carefully considering ethical, social, and legal implications. Multidisciplinary teams of two to three members collaborated to develop their solutions and present fully functional prototypes. A panel of jurors evaluated each submission based on feasibility, innovation, and ethical responsibility, ultimately recognizing the most promising projects with the potential for real-world impact.
