## About ETH2.0

**- Phase 1: Sharding:** The core goal of Phase 1 is the integration of shard chains. In this stage, ETH 1.0 will merge with ETH 2.0. Shard chains are a key expansion mechanism for the ETH network, breaking the Ethereum blockchain into 64 different chains, each responsible for processing specific data tasks. This sharding mechanism achieves parallel data processing, akin to splitting the main highway of the ETH network into multiple parallel lanes, significantly enhancing the network's processing capacity and throughput. The implementation of Phase 1 brings significant technological advancements to ETH 2.0 in terms of data processing.

**- Phase 2: Execution:** The definition and functions of Phase 2 are still actively being explored, but it is already known that this phase will fully refine the sharding functionality. Each shard will manage an eWASM-based (ETH WASM) Virtual Machine (EVM), ensuring compatibility with smart contracts. Additionally, Phase 2 will support various core functions, including transfers, withdrawals, and cross-shard transactions. Importantly, Phase 2 will also complete the merger of ETH 1.0 and ETH 2.0, thereby entirely phasing out the PoW (Proof of Work) consensus mechanism and fully transitioning to the PoS (Proof of Stake) mechanism.
